PRESS RELEASE
EEPG Best Schoolbooks Awards 2003
This is the fourth year of the EEPG Best Schoolbooks Awards. The aim of this award is to promote excellence and quality in schoolbook publishing, and to offer recognition to the best publishers, authors, designers, editors
and graphic designers of these books within each European country.
Each participating EEPG member sent a copy of the schoolbook they wished
to enter to all other participating EEPG members, along with a letter
outlining why this is their best book. The candidate books were also sent to
the European Quality Team (a group which has developed a Quality
Guide for the Design and Evaluation of Educational Materials for the
Commission of the European Communities). The votes of the participating EEPG
members were given the weight of 75% whereas the votes of the Quality Team
had a weight of 25% when calculating the final scores. All members have
rated each book under the headings of Content/Syllabus, Layout/design, and
Price/marketing. The total number received determined the winners. The
winner received a Gold Certificate, second place a Silver Certificate and
third place a Bronze certificate at the Frankfurt Book Fair at the EEPG
stand, Hall 6.0 A 905, at 17.00 on October 8, the first day of the Fair – as

special merit award. Who are the winners of the EEPG Best Schoolbooks Awards 2003?
