3. OEB conference: Shaping the future of learning. Berlin, Dec 6th - 8th
This year the theme of the conference was "Learning Uncertainty". While OEB is mainly concerned with training and life long learning, there are a few lessons to be learnt also for educational publishers in K12 and beyond. One topic that came up all the time in the many interesting plenaries, talks, discussion rounds and workshops is the fact that we live in an age of acceleration and that that means a profound and significant shift in knowledge, experience, perception and ultimately education.
This is why "uncertainty" was the main theme:
We do not know what technology changes are bringing next, how demographic change will redefine our schooling and learning and how economic changes will influence our education on all levels.
There was also an interesting exhibition, mainly on the technology side.
